We are 28 weeks today and officially in the third trimester!
Equal parts exciting and terrifying! It’s hard to believe we are nearing the home
stretch, and I think time is starting to speed up. Luckily, depending on the
patience of our little lady, we have another 3ish months to finish our
preparation and enjoy some quality alone time before our lives change
completely.
At 28 Weeks, Peanut:
- Is almost 16 inches long and weighs two a half pounds
- Is the size of a tropical coconut
- Has almost packed on enough fat to regulate her own body temperature
- Is practicing new skills like coughing and dreaming
- Moves around a lot throughout the day – she is most calm when I am walking or working out. Otherwise, she’s rockin to her own beat in there!
- Is feeling good – fat and happy most days
- Passed her Glucose Tolerance Test – woo hoo!
- Has gained about 11 lbs, though it looks and feels like a bit more
- Is still eating relatively well (except when Daddy is out of town!)
- Is maintaining the same exercise routine, though it’s now a comical sight and downright painful to try and recover afterwards!
Jason’s travel schedule has been a little crazy, but we are
excited to have him home for a few days starting tomorrow. We are continuing to
make slow and steady progress on our to do list and hope to get started on the
nursery this weekend. I also have my KC baby shower on Sunday and I am so
excited! Tina is less than a month from her due date and I think Sadie Kay is
anxious to make an early arrival so we are looking forward to loving on our
newest niece while still enjoying uninterrupted sleep for a few more months. So many fun and exciting things happening in our family and I couldn't feel more blessed.
